Wednesday August 24th

John and I went for a walk round this morning. It is very dry and only the feeding station and scrape have any water.
We were expecting a blank morning other than a blackcap. However we came across a mixed flock of small birds in the wood which held at least 2 Nuthatch and 2 Tree Creepers.
We went down the the flashes, very brown, the cattle had just been fed and they were all up near the hide, there must have been 12 Yellow Wagtails in and among the feet of the cattle, not easy to see as they were hidden in the grass.
